She sold everything to pay the bills. She had always wanted to be a dancer. But could only get hired as a burlesque dancer. It paid her bill and that's all she wanted. One evening while taking a brake she witnessed a murder. After calling the police they let her know it was a bad gang in New York and she needed to stay low for while.She decided to check in about becoming a mail order bride. This took her to Colorado. Is a sweet love story.
For me, a bit of a walk down memory lane....I lived near Central City for over a decade. The beauty of the area is unsurpassed. Though predictable, the story is well told, despite the somewhat stilted dialogue, which does improve as the story moves forward. An additional bit of editing would also be helpful. For the most part, a good clean and wholesome read.
Cynthia Woolf has written a wonderful story that is both full of real suspense and real romance between a Mail-Order bride and a rich miner in Colorado. Easy to become engaged in this story as the fast-moving suspense keeps you turning pages.
Jack & Rita meet & like each other right away. She is funny & spontaneous & he is steady & wise. Jack allows the loss of his prior family through tragedy harm his relationship with Rita. However, when she becomes pregnant & her life is threatened by a criminal, Jack realizes his feeling for Rita is love. He almost lost her & that tragedy opened his eyes to the truth. Love & friendship triumphed.
Rita Baxter's life is in danger as she witnessed a murder. She decides to head west as a mail order bride. Jack Colton wants a new family since he lost his first family during the war. Rita's life is in danger, can Jack protect her? Can Rita change Jack's heart about love? I thoroughly enjoyed this story and I loved how the characters interact with each other's. I can't wait for more stories from Cynthia Woolf.
Very Good. RITA & Jack. Rita witnesses a murder. She's Being pursued. She signs up to be Jack's mail order bride in Colorado getting as far away from New York as she can. The killer goes to Colorado to seek her out and kill her. She loves Jack but he won't let himself love again having lost his first wife and children. I've read most of Cynthia Woolf's books and they've all been wonderful stories. This is one of her best. Sensual, some violence, great character development, believable. I devoured this book. What a great read!
This book is about a woman named Rita whose ambition was to become a ballerina but instead was dancing in a burlesque dancing group. While on break she saw a murder occur and knew the name of the killer. Afraid he would come after her she filled out an application to become a mail order bride in Colorado. She married a very wealthy man by the name of Jack. They find out that the murderer is in town looking for her. A very exciting mystery. This is a sweet love story and I love the fact there is an epilogue. I did not find any errors and that made reading more enjoyable.
